Since when are you a member of BIO HOTELS?
We have been a member of the BIO HOTELS family since 2008 – the first certified BIO hotel in the entire Zugspitze region. Shared standards with a focus on continuous optimization – in a holistic approach – is something we are proud of.
Do you also offer health counseling services?
If you have questions about nutrition, topics related to Hildegard von Bingen or our therapies, you can also get advice from us as part of a health consultation (70.00 EUR).
On which days do you offer dinner?
On the treatment days of Monday to Friday between 18:30 and 19:30 You can enjoy our organic cooking. Here you always have the choice between two different menu options (approx. 20.00 EUR / menu). Additionally, you can also choose from small dishes from our a la carte menu.
Do I have to reserve a table for dinner with you?
We will post a list of our two menu options every day from Monday to Friday. Please register for one of the two options by 13:00 on the respective day if you would like to dine with us in the evening. There is no fixed seating arrangement for the evening itself.
From when until when can I arrive at your place?
As a small, family-run organic hotel, we are always available for bookings for weeks, from Saturday to Saturday. You can arrive here starting at 08:30 AM and until 19:00 PM on the day of your arrival. The rooms are guaranteed available from 15:00 PM. Should you arrive later, please let us know – we will then provide you with the key. As part of our introductory days, we also regularly offer stays in January with flexible check-in and check-out dates starting from 3 nights.
Do you have a swimming pool?
In our small, cozy swimming pool (9x4m), you can take your daily laps at the pleasant 29 degree water temperature from 07:00 AM to 10:00 PM or simply relax.
When can I use the saunas?
Our Finnish old-fashioned wood-fired sauna, our Roman herbal steam bath and our tepidarium are available to you daily from 13:00 to 19:00.
Do treatments take place at your clinic on weekends as well?
Therapy days at moor&mehr are from Monday to Friday. We do not offer treatments on weekends.
Where is it located Bad Kohlgrub?
Bad Kohlgrub Located about 1 hour by car from Munich, between Murnau and Oberammergau in the Ammergau Alps and the Zugspitz region. In the heart of Upper Bavaria.
I am planning a solo vacation. Are there many solo travelers in your country?
No problem at all with us. At our organic hotel we have many solo travelers throughout the year who come to us for a relaxing wellness stay, simply to hike, as part of a course of treatment, or to simply take a break and get together. There is a good spirit. Always following the motto „everything is possible, nothing is necessary“.
Can I charge my electric car at your place?
We have two new charging stations for our guests. You can get a tank card here at the reception and charge your electric car right in front of our organic hotel. You will then receive an invoice from us – here you can decide regarding the billing, whether you would like to pay in cash, with EC cards or with a credit card.
What cultural attractions are nearby?
You will find a variety of cultural highlights in the immediate vicinity of our organic hotel in the Ammergau Alps. Just a few minutes away. Here you can find, among others, the royal castles such as Schloss Linderhof or Schloss Neuschwanstein, the unique Wieskirche, the monastery of Ettal, the market of Murnau with its historic old town, or the historically significant Passion Play location of Oberammergau. You have the choice.
Do you also offer vegan food?
Upon request, you can enjoy vegan options in our organic and healthy kitchen from Monday to Friday.
What do you do to get a good night's sleep?
The rooms in our organic hotel are all equipped with allergy-proof bedcare linens; in addition, we use only the finest organic terry cloth to ensure you have the best conditions for a restful sleep.
What activities can I do in the area?
You are vacationing with us in Bavaria’s largest contiguous nature reserve. In the immediate vicinity you will find stunning swimming lakes, countless hiking trails, mountain tours, and well-marked cycling routes. A true paradise for those who enjoy being active. No matter what time of year.
Are you eligible for assistance?
Our clinic Bio Kurhotel is eligible for subsidies as a state-recognized health care provider and is licensed to provide outpatient preventive care.
Can I bring my dog to you?
You are welcome to bring a dog per room. We have special dog rooms for your beloved four-legged friends. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant area, the swimming pool and sauna areas, and the therapy area – also to avoid allergies.
What are the options for restaurants and cafes on weekends in Bad Kohlgrub?
There are numerous options for restaurants and cafes in the area. All of them are within walking distance. If you prefer something more Bavarian and traditional, we recommend the Guggenbergalm at the foot of the Hörnle. It’s about a 10-minute walk from us. We also have a very fine Italian restaurant in the village center – Il Duetto Due. It’s only a 5-minute walk away. Good coffee and delicious cakes can be found at Cafe Wohlig. Live music, a café and cake, and cool drinks are available on certain days of the week at Cafe Waldschlucht – about a 20-minute walk from us and right in the middle of the forest. A beautiful walk.
Do you offer bicycle rental?
Although we do have a bike room in our organic hotel where you can safely store your own bikes, we do not offer bike rentals ourselves. However, this is easily Bad Kohlgrub available at the Ammergau Alps Tourist Information Center from Monday to Saturday. It is just 5 minutes away from us towards the village center.
Can we reach all the therapy facilities in the bathrobe?
All treatments are administered in-house. The facilities are easily accessible in a bathrobe.
Do you have enough parking spaces at the house?
One of our most frequently asked questions – you will find numerous parking spaces directly at our organic hotel.
What are the reception times at Bio-Kurhotel moor&mehr?
Our reception is open daily for you from 08:30 a.m. until approximately 18:30 p.m.
Where is the nearest train station?
Bad Kohlgrub It has two train stations. The „Hauptbahnhof“ is about 10 minutes away on foot. The nearest stop „Kurhaus Bahnhof“ is about 5 minutes away on foot from the hotel.
How many rooms do you have in yours Bio-Kurhotel?
At our organic hotel, you have the choice between 26 different accommodations – including 10 single rooms, 14 double rooms and 2 suites.
Is there also the possibility to spend a holiday at the Biohotel as a self-sufficient traveler?
For this purpose, we recommend our organic Chalet Suite Edelkastanie with its own kitchen, separate living and sleeping area and its own south-facing terrace.
How do I get the latest information about it Bio Kurhotel?
How many meters above sea level is your organic hotel located?
You will find our climate-friendly organic hotel moor&mehr at an altitude of 866 m above sea level in the heart of the Ammergau Alps. Our house mountain Hörnle (1484 m) is right outside the door.
Which mountains can I see from your organic hotel?
Of course, you have the best view of our mountain, the Hörnle, from our organic hotel. Plus, you have a magnificent view of some of the most beautiful mountains in all of Bavaria, such as Heimgarten, Herzogstand, and Benediktenwand. The best way to enjoy this is from our south balconies, our garden, or the new panorama platform right in front of the house. A feast for the eyes for all mountain lovers.
What additional services can I expect when booking at your organic hotel?
In addition to a organic breakfast buffet, a daily lunch with soup and tea, free use of the swimming pool and sauna area, you can park directly in front of the house for free, receive fluffy bathrobes and towels, a sleeping basket with various small amenities for the duration of your stay, and the choice from our pillow menu.
What do I need to bring with me for my health holiday at your organic hotel?
Basically, you only need slippers from home. Towels, bathrobes and everything else are of course provided by us. So that you can focus entirely on your relaxation with us.
