In addition to providing you with ample rest, we of course also arrange a suitable program of activities. This way, we can start the year 2027 relaxed together. Prosecco and a warming midnight soup are available for you by the campfire. Plus, the breathtaking view of the local mountain landscape from our new panorama platform is a real highlight that we’re already looking forward to!
Questions and answers
What is the routine for the New Year's Eve evening at the New Year's Retreat?
For New Year’s Eve on December 31st, you have a choice: you can make a reservation at selected and walkable restaurants starting around September. We recommend – if desired – doing this directly by phone and preferably well in advance. We will announce a complete list starting in September. Then, starting at 11:30 p.m., we cordially invite you to our viewing platform by the campfire. There is chilled Prosecco, a warming midnight soup, and with a little luck of the weather, a magnificent panorama of the Alpine foothills.
Can I bring my dog to the New Year's Retreat?
Dogs (1 dog per room) are allowed in our special room categories: Linden with balcony facing north/west, or Linden without balcony, or Peony.
What food is provided during the retreat?
From Monday to Friday, with the exception of New Year’s Eve evening, you have the choice – in our certified organic kitchen – between two daily menus (20.00 EUR per menu) that can be booked in advance (vegetarian & non-vegetarian, vegan on request) or small dishes à la carte.
Can I participate in the New Year's Eve retreat alone?
A very clear yes! With 10 individual rooms, we generally always have a very large number of solo travelers throughout the year, and of course during the New Year's Retreat as well, who always like to get together just before the New Year. Our motto is: everything is possible, nothing is necessary.
What spa offers are there?
In addition to our diverse range of therapies and our nature spa in the Moor, our newly renovated spa area is ready for reopening with our New Year’s Eve retreat featuring our small indoor pool (30°), a Finnish old-style wood sauna, the Roman herbal steam bath, 2 relaxation areas and a brand new birch wood sauna for even more moments of well-being and small breaks.
What makes the situation of the organic hotel in the Ammergau Alps so special in winter?
The location of our organic hotel is something very special: quiet, protected and surrounded by nature – yet only a short walk from the most beautiful excursion destinations in the region. You can Bad Kohlgrub reach the town center in just five minutes on foot. Likewise, the Hörnle valley station, numerous winter hiking trails, cross-country ski trails and ski slopes (e.g. Garmisch, Lermos, Ehrwald) are also in close proximity – ideal conditions for active days in the Ammergau Alps. Even without a car, you are well connected: hourly trains run to the well-known destinations of Murnau and Oberammergau. There are generally countless opportunities for excursions – from the fairytale castle of Linderhof to the world-famous castle of Neuschwanstein and many other natural and cultural treasures of the region. Whether relaxation, exercise or culture – the possibilities are virtually limitless.
